A Designer with a Powerful Community of Friends
I am a full-time designer, designing homes to truly reflect my clients. I love spending time in the outdoors (the Berkshires) and traveling abroad, including to Paris, Portugal, Italy, and Hawaii. I love exploring new cultures, food, design, and lifestyle. I am a people person who cherishes time with my friends. I consider myself blessed to have such an amazing village of strong, supportive, and loving women. I would not be where I am today without them on my side.
Never Looking Back
As a divorced single mother of twin boys, I look back and can’t believe the journey I have been through. My boys kept me strong and focused as we came through a very difficult divorce. It was during this time that I was fortunate enough to find my village- a group of divorced fierce women who have all overcome so many obstacles and challenges and now support one another through the best and worst of times. I started my own design business in 2016 and never looked back. I recently became engaged to the most wonderful caring, loving, and supportive man who treats me like I never knew I was worthy of being treated.
Prioritizing Self Care
For me, the word fierce is best defined as a Mama Bear. I will stand up for and unconditionally love those around me while also taking care of myself. After all these years I have learned that I need to come first. If I take care of myself first, the rest will follow.
Overcoming Self-Doubt
I am proud of myself for overcoming self-doubt and not feeling worthy or deserving. After years of working on myself, surrounding myself with the right people, and being open to love again I am in a good place! I am a mother, a fiancé, an independent business owner, and a great friend- a far cry from where I started on this journey.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned since entering my current decade is “Yes, I can!”
I want others to know that there is no age limit to being happy, healthy, and falling in love. We have the gift of experiences, people, and family/friends to help us grow and stand tall. We can surround ourselves with people who raise us up instead of bringing us down.
Celebrating the Person I Have Become
Being a part of the Fierce After Forty project was something that I was initially reluctant to do. As I learned more about the project, I started thinking “Why not?” I was in a place where I needed to be pushed out of my comfort zone and celebrate myself both professionally and personally. I decided I deserved to have a moment to celebrate the person I have become- more bumped, bruised, and wrinkled, but still beautiful.
A Deeply Freeing Experience
My Spark Experience was a deeply freeing experience. I have spent so much of my life being critical of how I look, how I dress, and who I am. I am so happy with where I am in my life. This experience helped me see on the outside what I have been feeling on the inside.
