Bravery and Resilience

Meet Bridget! I had the privilege of photographing her as she was one of the winners for our big giveaway this year. Her story stood out to me from the moment I read her entry, and when we spoke on the phone it was clear. Not only was she SO deserving of having the opportunity to shine her light and remember what makes her strong, she was READY to see that light in herself. Having Bridget in the Spark Studio for her Boudoir Experience was not only fun, but it was also inspiring. Seeing her show her spark and being able to photograph it was an honor. Her bravery and resilience shine from within her. Read a bit about her experience below!

Every Day Bridget on the Left, and Bridget Showing Her Spark on the Right!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your journey!

My name is Bridget and I have had some very difficult medical problems with visible and emotional scars. I do not take life for granted and try to find something new every day to be thankful for.

What were you most excited about when you booked your Spark Session?

First, my excitement was that I had won the big giveaway. But most, I was excited to see me in a way I never had. And I hoped to take those feelings into my everyday life afterward.

How did it feel when you stepped through the doors and your own Spark Experience started?

I was extremely nervous before I got to the studio. I had an hour drive to get there and I was nervous the whole drive. But when I got into the studio, Lindsay greeted me and her personality was so comforting that the nerves started going away. And we started hair and makeup and all the chit chat during this just made the nerves all float away.

What was a favorite moment during your Spark Experience?

My favorite moment was in the reveal room. A picture popped up that I could not even believe was me and I was flooded with very deep emotions. This was the moment I had been waiting for and It was with those feelings I have found my strength every day since then.

What did you learn about yourself through the Spark Experience that surprised you?

I learned that no matter how you see or feel about yourself at that moment, someone else is seeing you in your pure, raw beauty.

Which photograph means the most to you to see now, looking back on the experience and why?

There was a photo of me in my corset in a beautiful position and that’s the picture that made all those emotional feelings come into my body and mind.

That moment Bridget describes–of seeing “the picture that made all those emotional feelings come into my body and mind”.  The one that makes you realize how truly special you are–is what the Spark Experience is all about.
